Ameland Murals ( acrylic on wall, January 2004.)
hghghhgh

Painting of a room in a summerhouse on the Dutch island Ameland.Special stencil design investigating the culture and monuments of the little piece of Holland only reachable by a one hour trip by boat. The interesting population with their anarchistic life style approach in continuing struggle with the sea and sand. The dunes and the polder, the birds and the bees, flowers and trees. The isle of Ameland is depicted firmly on one wall with the Phenix windmill, fishing ship, rabbits and sea fruits. Stranded ship on the shore encadred by mauresques with tiles on the door. The bird wall with a view on the dunes in a tulip platter, a cloudy sky above an original castle that has perished, the history of the whale hunters, the strong and long winters. The art of living, the art of visualisation, civilization, presentation, complex thoughts on a little island in the Dutch blubber sea. Save the Wadden Sea !! Feazants ans lighthouses, Adele Bloemendaal and Liesbeth List, Leen Jongewaard, the history untold, the book wide open. The fight against water, the disappearing sand, the afkalvende waarden en normen, het gevoel van hardness in a nutshell, deliverance, the Wadden Gospel. Fishermans friend !
